Spectacular Spaces: Studio PKA Designs A New-Age Workspace Defined By Transparency, Texture And Thoughtful Design

Driven by the imperative of productivity, the office balances raw industrial textures, earthy tones and pristine materials, ensuring a comfortable and highly-functional environment. 

Industrial rawness finds sophisticated expression in this Studio PKA-designed office, where exposed brick, micro-concrete finishes and warm timber establish a workplace rooted in material honesty and thoughtful design.

Within Lodha Supremus, one of Worli's most prominent commercial addresses, sits the new office of A91 Partners, a private equity firm driven by innovation and openness. Studio PKA, led by Principal Architect Puran Kumar, was entrusted with the task of translating these values into spatial form. 

Spanning 4,500 sq. ft., the office was conceived as a flexible workplace capable of evolving alongside its users. Inspired by Studio PKA's own workspace, the interiors embrace exposed brick, micro-concrete finishes and warm timber to create a restrained industrial palette. Browns, greys and natural textures establish an efficient rhythm, while glass partitions and an open plan reinforce the studio's emphasis on transparency and accessibility.

Focused, Welcoming And Purposeful Design

As you step in, a sculptural woven art installation titled ‘Bhoomi’ by The Wicker Story greets you at the reception. Beyond, the office opens out through a sequence of clean lines and carefully framed views. Sleek, linear light fixtures float across the unclad ceiling in straight lines. The exposed height also brings attention to the conduits, ducts and red piping, deliberately left exposed to establish a sense of industrial finesse. Glass partitions with rectilinear frames create the kind of transparency that allows maximum daylight to flood the interiors.

Solid wooden doors held by sleek, rectilinear glass partitions create moments of privacy in the personal cabins. A casual seating area is set against a textured wall holding a vibrant artwork.

A Workplace Planned Around Two Distinct Moods

Kumar envisions the workspace in two distinct realms, each possessing its own visual charm. While the private zone supports focused work through enclosed cabins, boardrooms and workstations, the public zone encourages interaction with meeting lounges, informal seating and collaborative spaces. There’s a distinct kind of openness in the way both spaces are laid out. Connected to the office is a spill-out outdoor terrace effortlessly transforming from an impromptu meeting zone to a relaxation spot for a quick breather. 

Exposed surfaces and finishes add to the tactility and ultimately the character of the workstations. 

Comfort Without Excess

The entire office is designed with ergonomic furniture, sculptural lighting and bold artworks that instantly pique interest and elevate the energy of the space. While everything is grounded in an earthy palette, pops of colour come in from a careful curation of plants, cushion covers and decorative rugs that are arranged to introduce moments of warmth and vitality. 

More than an office, this is a carefully calibrated environment where architecture quietly supports collaboration, focus and everyday interaction. By allowing raw materials, natural light and thoughtful planning to take centre stage, Studio PKA creates a workspace that feels timeless rather than trend-driven, finding its ideal setting within Lodha Supremus.
